What’s the Role: Activity Facilitator
What It Takes:
An important part of the staff role is to support our service users who have complex needs and help them to manage their emotions.
So the ability to be resilient, to communicate effectively and to utilise a variety of communication tools is essential.
Our dedicated staff team support our service users to learn and develop their independence skills which includes tasks such as shopping, cleaning their flat, personal care, accessing the community, budgeting, taking medication. Each staff member has something to bring to the role and we encourage staff to use their humour and sense of fun and creativity in supporting our service users with day to day life.
Where You Would Work: Dunboyne Day Service, Co. Meath
Dunboyne Day Service is an adult day service (for adults/school leavers of mixed gender aged from 18 years of age upwards). We provide appropriate quality care and support for service users with an intellectual disability/autism.
Dunboyne Day Service is located in Business Park based in Dunboyne village, Co. Meath. We are surrounded by lots of great amenities such as local parks and playgrounds, swimming pools, shopping centres, local church, local library, gym and sports centres. The service has ample access to public transport such as Dublin Bus and Dunboyne train station.
The role entails providing support in the community and in the centre and supporting the individual with care and support in all aspects of everyday living, enhancing their daily living skills and community integration. The role entails sourcing opportunities of employment and further education. Staff are required to devise activity schedules weekly and programme folders based on the individual’s needs, wishes and choice. The role also involves some administration duties such as completing daily notes, monthly summaries and key working sessions with residents, as well as updating personal plans, risk assessments etc. We focus on person centred planning and supporting residents to achieve their own goals, as well as recognising that each individuals needs are very different and unique to them. Salary Details:
Activity Facilitator
Full-time and relief contracts available
€25,836 - €35,856
per annum*
(dependant on qualification)
*Salary based on 36 hours per week. Salary dependent on qualification/experience. Where the role requires sleep-ins, a minimum additional payment of €90.40 per night applies*
